OBJECTIVES
Shooter will demonstrate proper reaction shooting and weapon control by engaging the target at 5 yards and neutralizing a hostile target with limited time frames.
STAGES OF DRILL
- Shooter will start with weapon out in the ready position with finger above or below the trigger guard.
- On the shot timer command, the shooter will shoot and hit the target within the time limit prescribed. Unlimited rounds may be fired.
SCORING
The target must be hit within 1.55 seconds for an 80% score, see score sheet.
NOTES
The shooter has one chance to qualify on this drill. If the shooter does not qualify on the first try, the training staff will work with the shooter until attainment of a passing score. However, only an 80% score or above will be recorded.

6” X 10” Hanging steel plate or similar
Shot Timer
Qualification score sheet (attached) and ballpoint pen
Shooters handgun, one magazine topped off
